About Us

All About Cimarron

Our neighborhood Cimarron is a wonderfully friendly community located in northeast Vancouver with a total of 159 homes, 46 are one level and 113 are two story homes.  All  homes have two or three car garages.  Our neighborhood is comprised of families with all ages of children, young couples and retirement age adults.

For the first homes, ground was broken in 1985.  Homes have been built in 5 phases between 1985 till present day.  Our last home is currently under construction. The average size lots are between 8-9,000 sq. ft. This is a big selling point since many newer homes are located on 6-7,000 sq. ft. lots. Most homes have been maintained, updated and remodeled over the years. Landscaping is mature and compliments the neighborhood.  Another real advantage is that there are only 2 entrances into the neighborhood thus assuring limited access and less issues with crime and drive through traffic.  We consider that our neighborhood is one of the very best around. Cimarron is and has always been one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Vancouver.

We have a very active Home Owners Association including a Governing Board and Architectural Board.  The Community assets include our wall and fences surrounding the neighborhood and the landscaping and maintence of both entrances. This gives Cimarron homeowner’s limited liability and community responsibility. Homeowners are responsible for problems that occur on their property including landscaping, sidewalks, roofs, and fences and the inside of their own homes.

Cimarron has several annual events every year including:

  • Chipper Day in the spring so neighbors can recycle their winter yard debris.
  • The Garage Sale in early June is always a fun time not only for the neighbors but also all Vancouver bargain shoppers.
  • Our Picnic Day is a great summer activity.  Neighbors bring a potluck to accompany hot dogs.  We usually have music and lots of kid friendly things to do including water fights, bouncy houses and face painting.  Activities vary year to year but will always be quite fun.
  • The Clean-Up Day provides neighbors with an opportunity to dispose of and recycle inside and outside items free.
  • The Annual Meeting in January is to elect board members and approve the budget for the next year.

The neighbors of Cimarron are a delightful group of people and many have become friends as well.  There are lots of shared lunches, dinners, outings and parties arranged on a private basis.  We have several quilters, artists, photographers, jewelry makers, musicians and computer nerds in our neighborhood.  Whatever your interests, we’re sure you will find a friend.

Outside the neighborhood, we are located quite close to many amenities.  We are located less than 10 miles from the  Portland International Airport. We are close to C-Tran bus lines and a bus for seniors and citizens of disability is easy to arrange for individual home pick-up.

Westfield Shopping Town, better known as Vancouver Mall is about six miles.  There are many grocery stores catering to most tastes in any direction from the entrances.

Many religious churches or temples are within walking distance.  Physicians, dental offices, clinics and two hospitals are close.

Firstenburg Recreation Center is about 2 miles from our neighborhood and includes a pool, hot tub, basketball courts and a wide range of activities through the Vancouver Parks and Recreation.  YMCA with a pool and basketball is about 4 miles away.  There are a few private fitness centers quite close including 24-Hour Fitness, D-Fit, Crunch, and Cascade Athletic Club.  Country clubs nearby include Royal Oaks, and Orchard Hill in Washougal.  Nearby Golf courses are Camas Meaqdows, Green Meadows and Fairway Village.  Cimarron is only 1.5 hours away from the gorgeous and  rugged OR Coast and snow skiing at Mt Hood.  The Columbia River and Gorge are just east of us and wineries dot the area.

There are several community parks for kids nearby.  Pacific Community Park includes a dog park located to the east about a mile away.

Our children attend Columbia Valley Elementary School, Pacific Middle School, and Evergreen High School.  Little League and soccer is very popular with our families.
